The implementation, extension, and maintenance of waste collection and treatment networks are crucial in urban development. The ideal management model has not yet been found. The ‘Promaiss’ and ‘Gicod’ projects in the medium-sized city of Dolisie, Republic of the Congo, are trying to implement hybrid solutions involving a large element of consultation with stakeholders. This article presents and discusses elements of context and reflection on this experience.
