On 8 April 2015, the University of Pau and the Pays de l’Adour (or UPPA) hosted a colloquium titled, “Elections in East Africa: new trends, practices, and actors?” Participants revisited one of the canons of political science – elections – by noting recent changes in the contexts, participants and processes of voting in East Africa. Experts on one or more East African countries along with specialists from various disciplines shared their views, focusing on current efforts to clarify East African elections from different angles and/or by using a multidisciplinary approach.
