The Concept of Population in Constitutional Law.

The classical approach to sovereignty insufficiently investigates the singular way African political spaces are organized. Indeed, focusing on concepts such as "a people" or "nations" can lead to a kind of "constitutional myopia," whereas the lack of any genuine consideration of the human composition of local African governments fuels many political or post-election conflicts. Consequently, to understand and construct political regimes and societies having a complex human substrate, such as those in Francophone Africa, another approach is worth exploring: using the concept of "population"–?one more often used in demographic studies.
