50 years of French Policy on Africa

The Role of France in African Countries’ Independence
A British Perspective
By Tony Chafer, Gordon David Cumming
English

Two British professors, Tony Chafer and Gordon Cummings evaluated fifty years of France’s policy on Africa in their report, Punching Below Their Weight? Anglo-French Cooperation in a Changing Africa, presented on November 3, 2010, at the French Institute for International Relations (IFRI). They propose a new vision of a changing Africa and a France that, in many ways, has an outdated concept of its former colonies.
