How is the migration of Ghanaian footballers and the role played by the football academies in this process to be understood? Academies are one of the components of young African players’ migration networks. Drawing on ethnographic research carried out in Ghana, Paul Darby proposes an analysis of how these networks operate. As contact points for international markets, these academies are above all the building blocks for better performing national football.
