The impact of the crisis in Ivory Coast on Landlocked Sahelian Countries: aAn initial overview

The Ivory Coast crisis is having some important economic and social consequences for landlocked Sahelian countries in the sub-region. Thus it has disrupted the supply of goods to countries using the port of Abidjan, and it notably reduced their market opportunities by decreasing the level of exports for which C?te d'Ivoire used to be a huge market. Nevertheless, this crisis has also demonstrated a capacity by local economic players to quickly find alternative supply routes.
