The aim of this paper is to describe the socio-political realities of Africa from the paradigm of the “campement-comptoir” which shows a particular way of being in oneself and in the world made up of, among other things, extraversion, the temporary that lasts and hatred of the law. After defining the outlines of the “campement-comptoir”, a few illustrations will be provided, based on the experiences and positions of African scientific and political elites, who all too often appear only as managers of post-colonial "campement-comptoir" from which they are struggling to leave, although new geopolitical perspectives could help.
