The aim of this paper is to analyze the effect of health insurance on the food security of agricultural households in Togo. PSM and IPWRA techniques are applied to agricultural household data. The empirical results show that health insurance significantly improves the food security of agricultural households in Togo. However, when climate shocks occur, no significant improvement was observed. Health insurance must be accompanied by other economic measures if we hope to improve the food security of agricultural households in the event of climate shocks in Togo.
