There are various methods to combat malnutrition. They can be divided into three areas: educating and raising awareness of best practices in nutrition, hygiene, and care; supporting local production, selling and promoting fortified foods that are adapted to the needs of various vulnerable groups, of good quality and affordable (infant flour, food supplements, etc.); and acting on non-food determinants of malnutrition, in particular by improving access to preventive and curative health care. Logically, women are at the center of programs to reduce malnutrition.
