Culture and Development: Questions of Management

In developing countries, management practices that allow large companies to function satisfactorily and are compatible with local forms of social interaction are still in their infancy. For this reason, importing mainly American management methods is often seen as the solution. Yet, this transplant is not always successful and the challenge facing developing countries is to find institutions that are adapted to their own cultural contexts.
