Promoting a co-operation link between Asia and Africa has become one of the main features of Japanese assistance to the African continent. This paper aims firstly at trying to clarify the Japanese concept of Asia-Africa co-operation. In order to estimate the importance and meaning of such an endeavor, it secondly describes some projects undertaken within this framework and sums up their results in practical terms.
