The war in the north of Uganda: A "military solution" with no possible resolution?

Emerging in Northern Uganda as a local rebel movement in 1987, the Lord's Resistance Army (LRA) is still engaged in civil war with the State, although today it has lost all popular support. The future seems bleak in the conflict area, particularly for the Acholi population which remain the primary victims of the fighting.
