Since the beginning of the 60s the North-Kivu province (Eastern Congo) has been facing recurrent ethnic conflicts. These conflicts have two faces: intra-ethnic and inter-ethnic. This paper first presents the dynamics of these conflicts over the past four decades, and then examines the possible solutions according to three plausible scenarios for the political future of Congo.
