On war and peace in Africa

This contribution explores possible ways of educating for peace in Africa. Starting with an essay on the historical anthropology of violence and war on the continent, it further examines the modes of restoring or maintaining peace utilized by African societies in the past. It concludes with some suggestions for today's world, at a time of acute awareness of the importance of universal access to high?quality education.
